Location

Ko Pha Ngan is Located in the Gulf of Thailand, half way between Ko Samui and Ko Tao, approximately 100Km from Surat Thani. Like much of Thailand it has a hot humid Tropical climate. The months of November to January, the Sea is Rough and there is lots of Rains. Originally a Backpackers Heaven where there was plenty of uninhibited consumption of drugs, cheap booze, cheap lodging and lots of Crazy, all night fun. Nowadays Drugs are a NO NO. Remember just Possession of Drugs attracts the DEATH Penalty in Thailand. Just Avoid it. There are lot of other things to explore on this Island. There are some stunning Waterfalls and Jungle trekking up to the Hills. Wat Khao Tham is a wonderful Buddhist Meditation Retreat center. The are also many excellent sites around the Island for Snorkeling and Scuba Diving. On the South side of the Island at Hat Rin is home to the world famous Full Moon Party. More than 10,000 people usually come to the Party on the Beach. Booze is drunk by the Bucket. Don't do Drugs however tempting it may be, even offered to you for free. It is just not worth it.

Visitors can get to Bangkok by Air. Travel by road or Train from Malaysia or Singapore to Surat Thani then take a ferry boat to Ko Pha Ngan. Many International Airlines land directly at Haadyai International Airport daily. There are some regional flights that land on Ko Samui island. From Ko Samui you can take a Ferry to Ko Pha Ngan Island.
