Nature Lover's and Diver's Paradise
Perhentian Island (Pulau Perhentian) is small group of Tropical Islands situated about 20 km from the north east coast of Peninsular Malaysia off the State of Terranganu and Kelantan. Historically it is an ancient stopover point in South East Asia for ships plying the South China Sea plying between Indonesia and Indochina. This is probably why it is called Perhentian (which in the Malay language it means One-Stop-Over). The larger island is called Perhentian Besar and the smaller one Perhentian Kecil. Nearby there are a few tiny islands- Pulau Susu Dara Kecil, Pulau Susu Dara Besar, Pulau Susu Serenggeh and Pulau Rawa.
