Location

Cameron Highlands is located in the Center of Peninsular Malaysia. There are a few towns along the way up and the highest is Brinchang located about 1500 meters above sea level.

It is the northern most point of the state of Pahang. Getting to Cameron Highlands is easy. It is well connected by roads. Takes about 3 hours from Penang Island and about 4 hours form Kuala Lumpur.

English Style Cottage in Cameron highlands

  • Cameron highlands has a unique Charm not found elsewhere in Malaysia. Many of the building are Tudor Architecture Style giving it  a very English country look.

  • At the Ye Olde Smokehouse Hotel you can enjoy an traditional English breakfast, tea in the lush beautiful gardens with scones, strawberry jam and cream. In the evening dine at the fine restaurant and off course have Drinks by the fireplace!.

  • It has unique fresh vegetable, flower and fruit market. The famous ones being Strawberries.

  • famous for Cameroonian Tea or BOH Tea. There are breathtaking views of the valleys and nature fauna and trees. The Tea Plantations are very beautifully and carefully tended. Visitors can visit the plantations and there are on site tours .

  • During the early part of the night there are night market where traders sell all kinds of  food, clothes etc very colorful. it is usually very quiet and very peaceful at night. Just make sure you have your jackets on, it can be really chilly when the wind is blowing.

  • There is a lovely 18 hole Golf course in Brinchang where you can play without sweating too much although it is a tricky green. The Course is set overlooking beautiful valley and hills.  If you love adventure then this is the place.

  • There are numerous jungle trails on the highlands. You can hire guides. Most of them are the Aboriginal people (Locally called Orang Asli). They know their area intimately and if you follow their instructions it is safe. The best advice for these activities is to inquire from the Hotel or Chalet you are staying. The place is also the home of Orang Asli (Aborigines). There are daily guided tours to their villages and experience first hand their unique way of Life in harmony with their surroundings.

  • Visit the strawberry Farms and taste the fresh fruits.

  • Cameron Highlands primary economic activity is agriculture. Most of the flowers such as Roses, chrysanthemums, Strawberries, and exotic vegetables are grown here. Many of these produce is exported overseas.
